The Australian Pet Welfare Foundation (APWF) is a research, education and advocacy organisation working to improve the health and wellbeing of pets, people and their communities.

We conduct research, translate evidence into practical solutions and advocate for changes that improve animal welfare and save lives. As a small team, our volunteers have the opportunity to make a genuine contribution and see the impact of their work.

About the project

We are looking for an experienced digital fundraising specialist to help us launch and refine our new online donation experience using Raisely.

This is a 6–8 week project-based volunteer opportunity, with a more intensive setup and development period at the beginning, followed by testing, refinement and lighter ongoing maintenance.

We have already developed our key messaging, fundraising priorities, brand assets and much of the content. We need someone with digital fundraising experience to help turn this into a strong, easy-to-use donor experience in Raisely.

You will work directly with APWF’s Business Manager and help shape how supporters engage with and donate to our organisation online.

What you’ll help us with

Depending on your experience and availability, the project may include:

• Reviewing and refining our main Raisely donation page
• Structuring donation amounts, impact messaging and calls to action
• Improving page layout and the donor journey
• Creating or refining reusable campaign and appeal templates
• Reviewing donation confirmation and thank-you communications
• Testing the donor experience across desktop and mobile
• Identifying opportunities to improve conversion
• Refining pages following launch and initial testing
• Providing practical recommendations for future Raisely campaigns
• Completing a simple handover so our team can maintain the platform

You won’t be starting from scratch. APWF will provide content, brand assets, organisational information and internal support.

About you

We would love to hear from someone with experience in:

• Digital fundraising
• Online donation or campaign page development
• Raisely, Funraisin, Classy, Donorbox or similar platforms
• Donor journeys and online conversion
• Fundraising campaign strategy
• Digital user experience

Hands-on Raisely experience would be ideal, but we will also consider applicants with strong experience using comparable fundraising platforms who are confident working in Raisely.

This role is best suited to someone with relevant professional or substantial practical experience who can work independently once the project direction is agreed.

You do not need to be an animal welfare expert — we are looking for someone who understands digital fundraising and would enjoy applying those skills to a meaningful cause.

Time commitment

This is a 6–8 week flexible project, with an immediate start preferred.

The workload will be greatest during the initial setup and development phase, with the time commitment reducing as the project moves into testing, refinement and maintenance.

The role can largely be completed remotely and at times that suit you, with occasional online meetings with our team.

There may also be opportunities to assist with future digital fundraising, campaign or other projects, depending on your experience, interests and availability.
