Volunteer Regional Lead – Community Connection Program

Lead the people who create connection.

4 Voices provides early intervention through connection - creating opportunities for women to connect with people, community, practical assistance and trusted support before challenges become crises.

Our Community Connection Program brings welcoming spaces into the places women already are. Through our mobile fleet and community locations, women can share a cuppa, join an activity, access practical or digital support, and discover pathways to new opportunities.

As the Regional Volunteer Lead for Inner Sydney, you will help create the strong, supported volunteer community that makes this possible.

You’ll bring Shift Leaders together, strengthen volunteer capability and help ensure Community Connection shifts are safe, reliable and welcoming. This is an opportunity to grow your leadership experience while making a meaningful difference across your local community.

What you’ll do

  • Build a positive, inclusive and connected volunteer culture across the region
  • Support and develop Community Connection Shift Leaders through regular communication, meetings, guidance and learning
  • Help ensure shifts are reliably staffed by overseeing rosters, coverage and cancellations
  • Welcome and support new volunteers as they build confidence in their roles
  • Help volunteers use systems such as MyImpact and stay connected with important information
  • Respond to operational challenges and help teams find practical solutions
  • Support Shift Leaders with incidents or concerns and involve the State Manager when further guidance is needed
  • Attend shifts when hands-on leadership, encouragement or additional support would be valuable
  • Share regional insights, emerging needs and opportunities that can strengthen the Community Connection Program
  • Recognise volunteer contributions and help create an experience where people feel valued and want to stay involved

This could be a great fit if you

  • Enjoy bringing people together and helping others succeed
  • Have leadership, team-building or volunteer coordination experience
  • Communicate clearly, warmly and confidently
  • Are organised, proactive and comfortable coordinating across multiple locations
  • Can respond calmly and use good judgement when challenges arise
  • Are confident using everyday technology and willing to learn new systems
  • Value inclusion, collaboration and creating a strong sense of belonging
  • Want to help build community connection before crisis

You’ll be supported with

  • Induction and role-specific training
  • Support from the State Manager and broader 4 Voices team
  • Access to volunteer systems, resources and established processes
  • Ongoing learning, feedback and leadership development
  • A community of purpose-driven volunteers who care deeply about the work

What you can gain

  • Meaningful volunteer leadership experience
  • Opportunities to strengthen your people, operational and community-engagement skills
  • Experience supporting a distributed volunteer workforce
  • Connection with volunteers and communities across Brisbane
  • The satisfaction of helping create reliable, welcoming spaces for women each week

By supporting the people who deliver Community Connection, you help ensure women can find a welcoming place to participate, connect and explore what comes next.
