Singing Class Volunteer Instructor Wanted - Wesley School for Seniors

We are seeking a volunteer Singing Class Instructor who brings musicality, warmth, and enthusiasm to our senior students—someone who can guide group singing and support learning through live accompaniment.

- Musical Skills
- Instrument Proficiency (Required): You can confidently play a musical instrument (e.g., piano, keyboard, guitar) to accompany group singing.
- Musical Knowledge: You’re familiar with singing techniques such as breathing, pitch, rhythm, vocal warm‑ups, and harmonies.
- Repertoire Awareness: You can select or adapt songs that are suitable, familiar, and enjoyable for seniors.
- Teaching Skills
- Clear Instruction: Ability to guide vocal exercises and explain musical concepts in simple, supportive terms.
- Patience: Willingness to help beginners and gently guide students at varying confidence levels.
- Adaptability: Skill in adjusting pacing, song choices, and teaching styles to suit the group.
- Positive Environment: You create a warm, inclusive atmosphere where seniors feel encouraged to sing and express themselves.

Volunteer Commitment
As a volunteer singing instructor, you’ll lead:
- weekly sessions lasting 1 hour
- anytime between 10am to 4pm from Monday to Friday. (subject to room availability)
- open for discussion for online class
Location
We’re conveniently located in Sydney’s CBD, just a short walk from Town Hall or St James station.
