Lupus Foundation Australasia (LFA) is a newly established Australian charity dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by lupus through awareness, education, advocacy, research support and community connection.

We are seeking a creative and passionate Volunteer Graphic Designer to help establish our visual identity and produce professional marketing materials that will support our awareness campaigns, fundraising initiatives and community engagement across Australasia.

About the Role

As our Volunteer Graphic Designer, you will work closely with the Board and Marketing Team to create a professional and consistent brand for Lupus Foundation Australasia.

One of your first projects will be designing a completely original logo and visual identity. You will also create promotional materials for health expos, awareness campaigns, social media, print publications and fundraising events.

Key Responsibilities

• Design a completely original logo for Lupus Foundation Australasia.
• Develop a cohesive visual identity, including colour palette, typography and brand guidelines.
• Design pull-up banners, media walls and exhibition displays for health expos and community events throughout 2027.
• Create brochures, flyers, posters, fact sheets and other promotional materials.
• Design graphics for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, our website and email campaigns.
• Produce templates for presentations, reports and educational resources.
• Prepare artwork suitable for both digital platforms and professional printing.
• Work collaboratively with the Marketing Team to maintain a consistent and engaging brand across all communications.

Skills and Experience

We're looking for someone with:

• Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, Affinity Designer, Figma, Canva Pro or similar graphic design software.
• Strong graphic design and branding skills.
• A creative eye with excellent attention to detail.
• Knowledge of preparing artwork for both print and digital use.
• Good communication and time management skills.
• The ability to work independently in a remote volunteer environment.
• A portfolio of previous design work (professional, freelance, study or personal projects).

Desirable

• Experience designing logos and complete brand identities.
• Experience creating large-format artwork such as banners and signage.
• Understanding of accessibility and inclusive design.
• Experience working with charities, health organisations or community groups.

Logo Design Requirements

The successful volunteer will lead the development of a new visual identity for Lupus Foundation Australasia.

The logo must:

• Be entirely original and suitable for trademark registration.
• Not contain stock graphics or copyrighted design elements.
• Reflect professionalism, hope, resilience and the diverse lupus community across Australasia.
• Be supplied in editable vector formats (AI, SVG, EPS and PDF), together with PNG and JPG files.
• Include the transfer of copyright and intellectual property ownership to Lupus Foundation Australasia.

Time Commitment

• Approximately 4–8 hours per week.
• Flexible working hours.
• Fully remote within Australia.
• A minimum commitment of six months is preferred.
