Archivist - Queensland Family History Society
This role gathers essential records of the Society, to preserve and organise them and to make them accessible. As this is a relatively new role, the incumbent will need to establish many aspects of this role.
Tasks include:
- Gather and organise historical material regarding the management and operation of the Society
- Collate and bind Society’s journal
- Digitise the signed minutes from Management Committee meetings and other formal meetings of the Society eg AGM, members’ meetings etc.
- Produce small articles for Queensland Family Historian and Snippets
Qualities:
- well-organised and methodical
- attentive to detail.
- good written communication skills
Skills:
- technical competence and confidence
- some knowledge/experience of electronic filing systems
Desirable:
- experience in record keeping/archiving would be helpful.
- familiarity with QFHS structure and organisation.
Time Commitment: estimated 4 hours per month
Reports to/ first contact: President/Vice-president
Works closely with: Secretary
Location: online as well as regularly attending at 46 Delaware Street, Chermside.
