The Isis District Historical Society Inc is in its 50th year here in Childers, located at 1 Taylor St, we have a museum containing many items from our local area. There are 3 buildings, an old coach changeover hut, cane trains, a rotunda and other items on display, all of which need regular upkeep.

We have a small team who manage the upkeep of our grounds and buildings. Our Complex Co-ordinator is currently working with the team to refresh the buildings - pressure washing, staining decks, renewing gardens etc and we would like to have more people join us to help with these tasks. The work is varied with regular tasks like cleaning gutters, mowing lawns, building inspections (looking for maintenance issues) and working with the Co-ordinator on special projects.

If you are a "hands on" type of person who would enjoy working with us to improve the presentation of our complex we would love to hear from you. No specific skills are necessary.
