CCA NSW Ltd is a not-for-profit community organisation dedicated to supporting older people, people with disability, carers, and individuals who need assistance to remain independent and connected within their community. One of our valued services is providing safe and reliable transport to medical appointments for community members who may otherwise have difficulty accessing essential healthcare.
We are looking for caring, reliable, and community-minded volunteers to join our Medical Transport Team.
About the Role
As a Medical Transport Driver, you will provide door-to-door transport for eligible clients travelling to medical appointments, including GP visits, specialist consultations, hospital appointments, allied health services, and diagnostic tests.
More than just driving, you will offer reassurance, companionship, and friendly support, helping clients feel safe, respected, and cared for throughout their journey.
Key Responsibilities

- Assist clients with entering and exiting the vehicle where appropriate.
- Provide a friendly, respectful, and professional service.
- Ensure clients arrive at appointments on time.
- Communicate with the Community Transport team regarding schedules and any changes.

We're looking for volunteers who:
- Hold a current Australian Driver Licence with a safe driving record.
- Are courteous, patient, and compassionate.
- Enjoy working with older people and people from diverse backgrounds.
- Have good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Are reliable, punctual, and committed to providing excellent customer service.
- Can maintain client confidentiality and treat everyone with dignity and respect.
Previous community transport experience is not required—full orientation and ongoing support will be provided.

- Make a meaningful difference in someone's day.
- Help people access essential healthcare and remain independent.
- Build lasting connections within your local community.
- Join a welcoming and supportive team of volunteers and staff.
- Gain valuable volunteer experience while giving back to the community.
- Enjoy the satisfaction of knowing your time has a direct and positive impact on people's lives.
The Difference You'll Make
For many people, getting to a medical appointment isn't easy. Your support can reduce stress, prevent missed appointments, improve access to healthcare, and help clients maintain their health and independence.
A simple drive can provide reassurance, companionship, and peace of mind to someone who truly needs it.
