WE NEED YOU AT OUR FRIDAY FAWKNER MARKET!

Our market is held at the Fawkner Senior Citizen's Centre, 79 Jukes Road, Fawkner , every Friday from 9am to 1pm. Volunteering starts between at 8am to 1pm.

Here are a bunch of things that we need a hand with:

Box Packing

• Weighing produce and packing boxes according to the lists provided
• Ensuring that customer produce boxes are beautifully presented and correctly packed, including bread, dairy and other items
• Tidying up the packing area after box packing is complete (including scales, knives and other tools)

Hospitality

• Meeting and greeting customers visiting Merri Food Hub
• Building a rapport with customers

Cashier duties

• Working on a point-of-sale system and cashing up the till at the end of the shift

Market stall duties

• Assisting customers with their shopping
• Assisting in setting up the market stall, ensuring that it is kept well stocked and well presented, including packing and replenishing shelves as needed
• Restocking when stock levels are low
• Assisting with regular stock-takes
• Assisting with the setting up of promotional displays
• Informing customers of promotions and recommending products/meal ideas
• Keeping the stockroom tidy and organised
• Making the market manager aware of any further support visitors may need
