Volunteer LGBTQ+ Support Officer
AFFMA is seeking a compassionate and professional Volunteer LGBTQ+ Support Officer to provide confidential telephone support to LGBTQ+ clients experiencing emotional distress, discrimination, social isolation, family conflict, and other personal challenges.
The successful applicant will provide one-on-one support, assess client needs, maintain confidential case notes, make appropriate referrals, and work collaboratively with the AFFMA team.

Excellent communication and active listening skills

Experience supporting people in emotional distress

Understanding of issues affecting LGBTQ+ communities

Sound judgement, professionalism, and commitment to confidentiality
Qualifications or experience in counselling, social work, community services, or crisis support will be highly regarded.
