About us:
Chozen Foundation is a registered not-for-profit, established in 2021 by Taida Chigogora, with a mission to serve vulnerable and disadvantaged people and communities in Zimbabwe, where natural disasters and socio-economic challenges have left communities in need of basic necessities. We work across three key areas: providing basic needs like clean water, food, shelter and clothing; improving access to education through school construction and renovation, scholarships and learning materials; and empowering women through income-generation training, maternal and child health support, and rights advocacy. Our initiatives include the Open Tribe School Development Project, the Walk for Water program, the Hutano sustainable farming project, and the Charltan Safe House for teenage mothers, delivered by volunteers based in both Australia and Zimbabwe.

We're looking for a volunteer Fundraising & Partnerships Lead to help grow and diversify Chozen Foundation's income. This is a board-level, skills-based volunteer role suited to someone with fundraising, grant writing, corporate partnerships, or philanthropy experience who wants to use that expertise for real-world impact — not a hands-on donor administration role.

What you'll do:

  - Build and manage a rolling calendar of grant, corporate CSR, and philanthropic funding opportunities
- Write and submit grant applications, tailored to each funder's criteria and priorities
- Develop tailored partnership proposals for corporate sponsors, pitching how a partnership aligns with their values and goals
- Lead or support applications to corporate partners (e.g. travel, in-kind, and cash grant programs)
- Help establish a recurring individual-giving program (e.g. monthly donors)
- Open doors through your own professional and corporate networks
- Advise the board on fundraising strategy and help set annual fundraising targets
- Support impact reporting to donors and sponsors following completed projects

What we're looking for:

  - Demonstrated experience writing successful grant applications
- Experience developing partnership or sponsorship proposals, ideally with corporate partners
- Background in fundraising, corporate partnerships, grants, philanthropy, or a related field
- Strong written communication skills — able to write persuasively and tailor tone to different funders
- A genuine interest in international development, education, or clean water access
- Comfortable working independently and reporting into a small, growing board
- Must be based in Melbourne
