Time required

Approximately 1-2 hours per month, with flexibility around your schedule. Students will live with a host family and attend school in Ballarat for 3 months as part of a regulated high school exchange program.

Reimbursement

Approved expenses to complete progress reports/mileage in role

Requirements

Working with Children Check

A genuine interest in young people and cultural exchange. Good communication and listening skills. The ability to act with empathy, confidentiality, and professionalism. A current Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain one) Willingness to complete online training and follow child-safety and program guidelines. Reliable phone and email access. Capacity to visit the student when required and maintain at least monthly contact. Ability to work respectfully with students, host families, schools, and the SOTW team.
