Bushcare Volunteers - Mars Creek Bushcare Group - third Saturday mornings

This hidden creekline runs through the Macquarie University Ecology Reserve, over Curson Falls and into the National Park. Volunteers have removed weeds, revealing beautiful rock shelves and allowing the regeneration of native species and improved habitat for native animals such as swamp wallabies and powerful owls. The vegetation varies, from open woodland to gully rainforest. Experience is not necessary. You will receive on the spot training and can attend periodic workshops. It is an opportunity to meet people with similar interests, as well as learning about the natural, cultural and historical heritage of Lane Cove National Park.
Benefits for bushcare volunteers include: •A chance to make a positive difference to our environment •New friends with similar interests •Exercise •Training •Work experience •Free entry into NSW National Parks •Newsletter and formal recognition
The group meets in the Christie Park carpark at 8am on the third Saturday of each month so our next work day is June 20. Wear long sleeves, long pants, strong shoes and a hat. Bring sunscreen and water.
To join this bushcare group please reply and come along on the third Saturday of the month.
