Away From Keyboard Inc. (AFK) is an award-winning, registered not-for-profit and charity dedicated to protecting children, young people, and families from the harms of digital environments. We provide trauma-informed support, education, and early intervention for those impacted by online harm, including digital exploitation, technology-facilitated abuse, and harmful content exposure. Our programs help individuals build safer, healthier relationships with technology while reducing social isolation and improving mental wellbeing. Advocacy is central to our work. AFK actively contributes to local, national, and international conversations on digital safety, including the risks and societal impacts of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. We work to elevate community voices, influence policy, and drive greater accountability in the systems shaping young people’s online experiences. As a newly endorsed Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) charity, AFK is entering a significant growth phase. We are establishing a skilled and values-driven committee to strengthen governance, expand our impact, and help shape the future of digital wellbeing and safety.
