CRM & Email Marketing Specialist (Volunteer/Remote)

Genetic Alliance Australia

Logo for Genetic Alliance Australia

GAA's supporter, donor, and community contact data currently sits across multiple systems with limited integration. We need a hands-on volunteer to help us set up a clean, well-structured email database and the tools to communicate with our community effectively.

This role works closely with our incoming Digital Fundraising Coordinator volunteer, ensuring donor data flows cleanly from our new Raisely site into our CRM and email marketing platforms. You will work directly with the CEO and have real ownership of how GAA's contact and communications infrastructure is built.

What you will do

  • Audit current contact data across existing systems and design a clean, segmented database structure
  • Set up and configure GAA's email marketing platform (Campaign Monitor or Mailchimp), including templates, lists, segmentation, and automations
  • Establish data flows between Raisely, the CRM, and the email platform
  • Develop a clear data governance approach covering consent, segmentation, and privacy obligations
  • Build a small library of email templates GAA staff can use after handover (welcome series, donor acknowledgements, supporter updates, appeals)
  • Document everything so the setup is sustainable beyond your tenure

What we are looking for

  • Hands-on experience setting up or managing a CRM and email marketing tools, with specific exposure to one or more of: Dynamics 365, Campaign Monitor, Mailchimp
  • Strong understanding of email database structure, segmentation, and consent management under Australian privacy and spam regulations
  • Comfortable working independently and remotely
  • Clear written communication and good documentation habits
  • Motivated by building foundational infrastructure for a small national organisation in the rare disease space
